INFOFEST: DPM Lazović and US Ambassador Uyehara stress importance of ICT

Budva, Montenegro (30 September 2016) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunication Vujica Lazović met with US Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara at the 23rd festival of information developments INFOFEST in Budva.

DPM Lazović noted that INFOFEST has for a number of years been the largest and most important gathering of its kind in the region and added that it serves as central meeting point for the ICT world in the region. The festival gathered a large number of national, regional, and global technology leaders, including a great number of US companies, which was an opportunity for reinforcing the cooperation between Montenegro and US ICT companies. DPM Lazović noted that Montenegro has reached an enviable level of ICT development and is a regional leader in many aspects an digital solutions with everyday applicability.

Ambassador Uyehara noted that the US support festivals of this kind, noting they are an excellent opportunity to meet, exchange experience, and learn about the latest ICT developments, and also an excellent opportunity to present national ICT potentials to the world and to enter the global market.
