Romania ratifies Protocol on Montenegro's Accession to NATO

Senate of Romania unanimouslyy adopted the Decision on Ratification of the Protocol on Montenegro's Accession to NATO today, allowing the ratification process in this country to be ended. Previously, the House of Representatives ratified the Protocol on 20 September 2016. On behalf of the Romanian Government, the draft law was explained in the Senate by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lazar Comanescu.
Romania became the ninth member country of the Alliance which has ratified the Protocol on Montenegro's Accession to NATO.
Montenegrin delegation headed by the President of the Parliament, Darko Pajović, attended the ceremonial session.
