Minister Goranović spoke at the promotion of the monograph "Prince St. Vladimir of Duklja 970-1016" in Niksic

Pavle Goranović, Minister of Culture, spoke yesterday at the presentation of the monograph "Prince St. Vladimir of Duklja 970-1016", which was organized in the Gallery "Nikola I" in Niksic.

The monograph "Prince St. Vladimir of Duklja" was published with the support of the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation of the National Museum of Montenegro with the Foundation "St. Peter of Cetinje".

Minister Goranović said at the promotion that this monograph will help new generations to get a comprehensive overview of a substantial part of our national identity.

"This monograph is rich in precious hagiographic and literary contributions, as well as visual representations of the saint and statesman, Prince Vladimir, and thus makes one complete work, which is important for us today, and for those we leave obligation in legacy to keep our intangible heritage and testimonies about the sources of existence from forgetting " said the minister Goranović.

"Prince Vladimir of Duklja is the symbol of the greatest civilization values of religious and ethnic tolerance and harmony, whose cult is inherited for centuries by various religions. I believe that is the largest power and spiritual wealth of Montenegro ", said Minister Goranović, adding also that Vladimir of Duklja and his work and exemplary life represent the important historical guidance in the development and preservation of Montenegrin identity.

Academician Sreten Perovic also spoke at the presentation, as well as the Director of the Foundation of “St. Peter of Cetinje '', Dragoljub Drago Rašović.

Prior to the promotion of a monograph, an exhibition "The cult of St. Vladimir of Duklja 1016-2016" has been opened.
