The Ministry of Culture organized a workshop for young people called "Performances of diversity - the impact of culture", as part of the program for intercultural dialogue Foundation "Anna Lindh". It was held on 12 and 13 October in Pljevlja.
The workshop was organized as a joint activity of the Ministry of Culture and the Department for European Integration of the Municipality of Pljevlja, in cooperation with high schools and secondary vocational schools.
The focus of the workshop was the discussion of the impact of culture on the formation of the performance and attitudes of individuals and members of groups that are different on any basis. Through participation in a workshop led by Natasa Nelević, theatrologist, and film director Dusan Kasalica, participants discussed the "cultural diversity" and the meaning of this term in the modern social context, as well as the ways in which, primarily through the media and mass culture, forming and construct the perception of others. Through the projection of various audio-visual content and discussion of the presented examples from film, media and popular culture, participants had the opportunity to develop a critical attitude towards various stereotypes that encourage discrimination, enhance social distance and produce conflicts.
This is the final of five workshops that were held this year in Bar, Tivat, Niksic and Bijelo Polje, with the participation of about 100 students finishing high school, and lectures of our artists and cultural workers.
