DPM Lazović to participate in CEEC Summit of Heads of Government

Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazović traveled to Riga, where he will tomorrow lead the Montenegrin delegation at the Summit of Heads of Government of the Central and Eastern Europe and China, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

The Riga Summit will be held in the framework of the cooperation mechanism "16 + 1" countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China, initiated in Warsaw in 2012.

During the stay in Latvia, Montenegrin delegation will also have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang.

For the first time, the summit is organised in one of the Baltic states and envisages the adoption of two documents: "Riga guidelines" and "Joint Declaration of China and CEE countries on cooperation of the port areas of the Adriatic Sea, the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea."

The adoption of these documents is crucial for Montenegro because for the first time the projects of reconstruction and modernisation of the railway Bar – Belgrade, as well as higher capacity utilisation of the port of Bar are mentioned in official documents under mechanism "16 + 1".

Deputy Prime Minister Petar Ivanović will sign a memorandum on cooperation on the planting and processing of Chinese medicinal herbs.

The Montenegrin delegation will also hold meetings with representatives of Chinese companies that are interested in investing in Montenegro.

The delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazović, also includes Deputy Prime Minister Petar Ivanović, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Ivan Brajović and Minister of Economy Vladimir Kavarić.
