Podgorica, Montenegro (17 November 2016) – At today's session, the Montenegrin Cabinet adopted the Regulation on Business Zones. The document defines conditions for business zones establishment, their classification according to the strategic importance, operating conditions and actions that can be performed in them, as well as incentives for users of business zone. Discussion pointed out that the new solutions significantly affect the formation of a single system of establishing and managing business zones of strategic and local importance, which will boost investor interest, contribute to increasing the number of small and medium-sized enterprises and job creation. Furthermore, the regulation for the first time defines tax reliefs that apply only to employers who hire persons within the business areas.
The Government postponed a decision on the Information on the shortcomings in the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1373 in Montenegro, set out in the Moneyval's report on the fourth round evaluation of the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing system in Montenegro and returned the proposed material to the the Government's commissions, which joint session is scheduled for tomorrow.
