Safer Internet Day in Montenegro

Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications and Ministry of Education have marked Safer Internet Day, today in Podgorica.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications, Vujica Lazović, has opened the ceremony. Minister of Education, Predrag Bošković, CEO at Telenor Montenegro, Sandra Štajner, CEO at m:tel, Vladimir Lučić, Deputy CEO at Crnogorski Telekom, Vladimir Beratović, as well as Andrea Mićanović, member of the Club of Volunteers at the Gymnasium “Slobodan Škerović”, also spoke at the official ceremony.

Safer Internet Day ceremony has become a tradition in Montenegro and for several years now the Government of Montenegro, together with its partners, marks this day through series of events and activities. This year’s slogan – “Play your part for better Internet” – is promoted as a common goal, and represents a call to everyone involved in global community.

Within the framework of Safer Internet Day, Secretary of Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications, Sandra Veličković, and Secretary of Ministry of Education, Slobodan Filipović, have awarded ECDL IT safety certificates to the teachers who have successfully passed this module. Also, Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications CIRT team presentation “Cyber culture and Internet safety” has been held at the Gymnasium “Slobodan Škerović”. Theater play “Surf smartly” has been held at the elementary school “Pavle Rovinski” in Podgorica.

Safer Internet Day, under the slogan “Play your part for better Internet” is marked worldwide in the organization of European network of national safe Internet centers (INSAFE). The aim of this international action is promotion of safe and responsible Internet use, with particular focus on children and the young.
