PM Milo Đukanović praises results of 40th Government of Montenegro as successful
Podgorica, Montenegro (24 November 2016) -- At the end of the last session of the 40th Government of Montenegro, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović thanked everyone who committed the team of the Government, both in narrow and broad sense over the past four years. He said that the Government, which was elected in December 2012, has achieved results in both tasks which it set to itself: the acceleration of Montenegro's path towards Euro-Atlantic integration through reforms and the adoption of standards of the Euro-Atlantic community, as well as the initiation and acceleration of the key development projects which would be a generator of the economic development.
Speaking about the work of the Government of electoral trust, Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction for having raised the level of public confidence in the electoral system and public institutions. It is particularly important that the functioning of the Government of electoral trust represented the first step of cooperation between government and opposition, which should lead to bridging the gap on the Montenegrin political scene and in the society as a whole, with the ultimate goal of integration of Montenegro's potentials. „We can testify that we have more confidence in each other than we had on May 19“, Prime Minister assessed. He believes that the Government of electoral trust functioned in a civilised manner and thus proved that Montenegro matures and that Montenegro has a good future, because it has a political elite which has demonstrated that when they think differently even on major political issues, they can work together in the interests of the good of entire society.
Prime Minister congratulated the current ministers Ivan Brajović and Branimir Gvozdenović for being appointed to President and Vice-President of the Parliament. He as well congratulated Duško Marković for being appointed to the mandatary of new Government. „Montenegro is now facing the time which dictates the other priorities – primarily acceleration of the development and improving living standards. Key political processes have been successfully carried out. Below is a time in which we will measure the success by the ability to respond to the challenges of development and the challenges of improving living standards. The new order of priorities requires new people“, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović said, concluding the last session of the 40th Government of Montenegro.
