Greetings to PM Marković on occasion of assuming office

Podgorica, Montenegro (2 December 2016) -- On the occasion of assuming the office, the Prime Minister Duško Marković recieved a large nuber of greetings from home and abroad previous days.

The letter of congratulation from the Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang states:

„On the occasion of Your assuming the office of the Prime Minister, on behalf of the People's Republic of China and on my own behalf, let me express warm congratulation and good wishes. I wish Your Excellency every success in this important position“.

Chinese Prime Minister said that diplomatic relations were developing well and that the tight mutual political trust and fruitful cooperation in various fields between China and Montenegro is a positive example of equal treatment and friendly cooperation between large and small countries.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev also sent the letter of congratulation to the Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković.

„I congratulate You on the assuming the office of the Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro. I believe that Your actions will contribute to improving constractive Russian-Montenegrin cooperation“, Prime Minister Medvedev said in his letter.

The Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi expressed confidence that the excellent relations between the two countries will further improve and expand in the wake of Montenegro's integration into the European Union. „On that path, you will have the strong support of my country“.

High officials of the European Union Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, point out in a letter to Prime Minister Marković:

„Allow to extend congratulations on the new Government formation and Your appointment as a Prime Minister. The following period offers a plenty of opportunities for a new Government to continue further progress on the road to EU membership. In this context, we look forward to Your continued commitment to the implementation of key reforms in the field of the European Union, including the rule of law, which is in the interest of Your country and the central issue in its integration path“.

Among other things, it is stated in the letter that Montenegro is an important partner of the European Union in the region and that the EU expresses its readiness to continue close cooperation in the future.

Prime Minister of Slovenia Miroslav Cerar sent a sincere congratulations to the Montenegrin counterpart on his appointment and wished him success in the negotiation process with the EU. The following is written in the letter of congratulation addressed to the Prime Minister of Montenegro:

„I am glad that we managed to establish a diversified cooperation in all areas in 10 years of the independence of Your country. I am sure that our cooperation, under the leadership of Montenegrin Government, will contribute to the progress and prosperity of both countries“.

The letter of congratulation of the Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović states:

„I am deeply convinced that You will take advantage of given trust responsibly and contribute with Your future work to the further strenghtening of stability and cooperation in the region. I am sure that the work of this Government will be marked with new shuffle of Montenegro on its European path“.

Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hajredin Kuçi, expressed in his letter confidence that the two countries will continue the constructive cooperation within the mandate of the new Government. „Your role in strenghtening the rule of law in Montenegro resulted in the strenghtening of relations between Montenegro and the European Union, and is a model at which we look up on our way to EU membership“.

Congratulations to the Prime Minister arrived from the embassies and high representatives of the international organisations in Montenegro, mayors, companies, religious communities, civil society organisations, as well as a large number of citizens...

Prime Minister Duško Marković is grateful for the greetings, believing that the Government of Montenegro will continue to promote good relations with international partners and be a strong support to further prosperity of Montenegro and its citizens.
