Minister of Foreign Affairs Darmanović meets with Hoyt Brian Yee: USA will continue to support Montenegro's reforms

Podgorica, Montenegro (15 December 2016) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović met today with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Hoyt Brian Yee, who is on a working visit to Montenegro.

Mr Yee congratulated Minister Darmanović on the new position and reiterated US support for further Montenegro's reforms on its path towards the European Union and NATO. He also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen democratic institutions to achieve integration aspirations of Montenegro and for the citizens of Montenegro.

Minister Darmanović thanked the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Yee on the congratulations and stressed the continued support of the United States to strengthen the system of institutions and democratic processes in Montenegro. He particularly emphasised that the Government and the people of the United States have been Montenegro's most important reliance regarding its Euro-Atlantic ambitions. He added that the United States will continue to be strategic partner of Montenegro, which is responsible and trusted friend, ready to continue to constructively contribute to the common system of values and regional stability.
