PM Marković offers condolences over murder of Russian Ambassador in Turkey
Podgorica, Montenegro (20 December 2016) -- Murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov is a deplorable act and attack on democracy and civilisational values, said Prime Minister Duško Marković at a meeting with Russian Ambassador in Podgorica Sergey Gritsay earlier today.
At a meeting organised at the initiative of the Prime Minister on the occasion of this serious crime, Mr Marković conveyed his solidarity and condolences to the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and family of the deceased Ambassador.
PM Marković said that this tragic event reminds all the states that they must step up joint efforts in combating terrorism and devote more time to the issues of safety and security.
Thanks to the expressions of condolences and support, Ambassador Gritsay said that the murder of his counterpart is not just an act of terrorism, but also an attempt to influence the relations between Russia and Turkey. However, the Ambassador expressed confidence that r will not be disturbed.
