DPM Pažin hosts UK Ambassador Ian Whitting

Podgorica, Montenegro (22 December 2016) – United Kingdom will continue to support Montenegro’s NATO and EU bids, said Ambassador Ian Whitting at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Zoran Pažin.

Ambassador of the United Kingdom congratulated DPM Pažin on his appointment and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries that it will be further strengthened in the time to come. He reiterated that the United Kingdom is the 12th member of the Alliance to ratify the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO.

Deputy Prime Minster Pažin thanked Ambassador Witting for the United Kingdom’s strong political and expert support for Montenegro, referring to the key activities in the areas of judicial reform and the fight against organised crime and corruption, where the United Kingdom has provided significant expert assistance to Montenegro.

Two officials also exchanged views on the current political situation in Montenegro.

Both sides are hopeful that the cooperation between Montenegro and the United Kingdom will be continued through the implementation of joint programmes and projects, and that the two countries will develop friendly and business relations.
