PM Marković congratulates Christmas to members of Catholic religion

Podgorica, Montenegro (24 December 2016) -- Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro Duško Marković congratulated Christmas to all who celebrate this most joyous Christian holiday according to the Gregorian calendar. He also sent greetings to the Archbishop of Bar Rrok Gjonlleshaj and to the Bishop of Kotor Ilija Janjić.

„I wish the members od the Catholic religion in Montenegro to spend the Christmas holiday in peace, love and prosperity“, Prime Minister Marković stated in a congratulatory letter.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the mission of the Catholic church and its believers in Montenegro, as one of the pillars of traditionally harmonious inter-ethnic relations, on which Montenegro has always based its centuries-long duration.

„Only unity, tolerance and fostering dialogue as an universal definition of the Christian teaching can nowadays contribute to the European values and to the further development and progress of Montenegro. I am convinced that in these moral and ethical principles, the Catholic believers in our country and the Roman Catholic Church in Montenegro, together with members of other religions, will build in the future an open and tolerant society that we seek“, Prime Minister Marković said, with a desire to Christmas holidays bring peace, happiness and prosperity to every home in Montenegro.
