National Investment Commission approves Project of drainage and wastewater treatment in Podgorica
Podgorica, Montenegro (26 December 2016) -- The National Investment Commission held its first session on 26 December 2016 under the chairmanship of the President of the Commission, Prime Minister Duško Marković, when was decided to give consent for the Project of drainage and wastewater treatment in Podgorica within the II call for co-financing of infrastructure investments. It is a project worth 52.7 million EUR, for which the co-financing grant of the Western Balkans Investment Fund was required, in the amount of 16.7 million EUR.
During the discussion on this agenda item it was estimated that projects whose state of preparedness is not 100% should not reach the National Investment Commission in the future. In this regard, it was noted that this kind of projects indicates the need for the regulatory interventions in the existing system in order to remove solutions that represent the obstacles to growth. It was also estimated that when it comes to co-financed projects, more attention should be paid to the projects in the field of energy and transport in the future.
A Report on the work of the National Investment Commission for the III and IV quarter of 2016 was adopted.
The Commission has adopted the Information on the need to update an Unified list of priority infrastructure projects and decided to amend the methodology for the selection and prioritisation of infrastructure projects with the aim to update an Unified list of priority infrastructure projects.
