PM Marković talks on telephone with Senator John McCain

Podgorica, Montenegro (10 January 2017) -- The US Senate will ratify the Montenegro’s Accession Protocol to NATO soon – Senator John McCain said in a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Duško Marković.

Senator McCain called the Prime Minister Marković to congratulate him on the election of the Prime Minister, and he expressed regret that he couldn’t visit Montenegro on 2 January due to unexpected liabilities in Washington. He announced that a group of US senators will visit Montenegro as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Marković thanked Senator McCain for his congratulations and expressed confidence that the cooperation between Montenegro and USA will be continued in the future. The strategic partnership between the two countries will be further strengthened by the recent membership of Montenegro in the North Atlantic Alliance, the Prime Minister estimated.
