Podgorica, Montenegro (2 February 2017) – Prime Minister Duško Marković will pay a two-day official visit to Serbia (3-4 February), where he will meet with various officials and representatives of the Government of Serbia.

During his first day of visit, PM Marković will meet with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić. Other ministers in the Montenegrin delegation, namely Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić, Minister of Toursim and Sustainable Development Pavle Goranović, Minister of Education Damir Šehović and Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurković will meet with their colleagues in the Government of Serbia.

The official visit to Serbia is aimed at discussing bilateral issues, analysing the results achieved in various areas, and boosting cooperation between the two governments.

The existing framework of economic cooperation between Serbia and Montenegro doesn't correspond to the real possibilities and capacities and therefore the visit will also put an emphasis on strengthening collaboration in this area.

During the visit, PM Marković and ministers within Montenegrin delegation will discuss modernisation of the current infrastructural capacities and implementation of the various projects in this field, as well as possible cooperation in energy, tourism and agriculture.

Having in mind that the two governments cherish good political dialogue at the highest level, the visit will also be an opportunity to discuss common foreign policy goals aimed at achieving the full-fledged membership in the EU, position of the Serbian minorities in Montenegro and Montenegrin minorities in Serbia and initiative for launching the joint cabinet meetings.
