PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (7 February 2017) -- The Government of Montenegro will pay special attention to further improving the quality and comprehensive dialogue with civil servants and employees, the Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro Duško Marković said today at a meeting with representatives of the Joint Union of State Institutions, led by Veselin Vujanović.

Prime Minister Marković reminded that Montenegro has made significant achievements in the implementation of foreign policy goals – membership in the EU and NATO, due to the fact that the accession negotiations are well advanced, and membership in the Alliance is expected in the spring.

He stated that both the merit and responsibility for the success and the lack of good results in various fields belong to civil servants. In this context, he said that there is a problem of redundant employees in the administration, as well as the need to increase the level of professionalism, competence and motivation on the part of civil servants, and that it is important to work on these issues due to the overall progress of the country.

They also talked about the need to improve the status of civil servants and employees, especially those with the lowest clerical occupations, the representativeness of union organisations, but also strengthening the role of the Social Council.
