Brussels: Admiral Samardžić at the session of the NATO Military Committee

Admiral Dragan Samardžić participated in two – day session of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels in the format of the Chiefs of Defence of the member countries in which is discussed the need to adapt the NATO Command Structure, NATO-led operations and platform for interoperability with partners.

Admiral Samardžić informed the NATO highest military body about the activities in the frame of the military integration process of Montenegro into NATO, stressing the excellent cooperation and coordination with the responsible bodies of the Alliance regarding the implementation of the Military Integration Plan.

He expressed gratitude to the CHODs of the member states and strategic bodies and NATO HQ military structures on the support that he had during his mandate in the duty of the Chief of Defence of the AF of Montenegro.

Chairman of NATO Military Committee, General Petr Pavel pointed out the merits of the Admiral Samardzić in the reforms process of the Armed Forces of Montenegro and integration into NATO, expressing the expectations that in the next session of the Committee the newly appointed Chief of Defence will be the representative of Montenegro as full-fledged member of the Alliance.  

In his addressing to the Military Committee, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed the significance of fulfilling the obligations concerning the decisions made at the Summit in Warsaw, and especially stressed the increases of allocations for defence budget and uniformly burden the Allies concerning the contribution to collective security.
