Podgorica, Montenegro (14 february 2017) -- National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister and the Council's Chairman Duško Marković, held its 10th session earlier today, at which it discussed the current security situation in the context of the political statements and calls that could lead to the endangerment of civil peace and stability.

The Council stated that the preservation of stability, peace and security of all citizens and of the legal order is a common responsibility of the government and opposition. The Council expects that the announced public gatherings, although not reported under the law, will be peaceful and non-violent.

National Security Council fully supports the integrity of the State Prosecutor's Office in exercising duties falling within its competence defined by the Constitution and law. The Council noted the willingness and determination of the state authorities to respond to all security challenges and ensure stability and peace for all the citizens.
