Bošković and Fallon signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministries of Defence of Montenegro and United Kingdom

The Ministers of Defence of Montenegro and the United Kingdom, Mr. Predrag Bošković and Michael Fellon signed today in Brussels the Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries of defence.

Minister Bošković pointed out that cooperation between the two ministries is very intense and adequately adapted to the needs for improving capabilities of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Montenegro. He emphasized that today's signing of the Memorandum creates a legal framework for further improving of defence cooperation.

Montenegrin Minister of Defence has stated that he expects that the cooperation with the United Kingdom will further strengthen after Montenegro becomes a full-fledged member of the Alliance. He expressed appreciation for the fact that the United Kingdom took over the role of a leading nation for the NATO Trust Fund for the destruction of armament surplus in Montenegro, which recently started with the implementation.

Fellon pointed out satisfaction with the pace of ratification of the Protocol of Accession of Montenegro to NATO and expressed his belief that Montenegro will soon become a full-fledged member of the Alliance. He emphasized that the complexity of bilateral defense cooperation will be further strengthened after the signing of the Memorandum.

The Memorandum was signed during the Meeting of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Ministers of Defence, held today and tomorrow in Brussels.
