The Agreement on education has been signed between Montenegro and Serbia

The Minister of Education dr Damir Šehović and the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia Mladen Šarčević signed today an Agreement on Cooperation, which represent a legal framework for cooperation between the two governments in the field of education.

The agreement emphasizes encouraging cooperation between educational institutions, student and teacher mobility, exchange of experience in reforming the education system and other forms of joint activities.

It was also agreed that the parties intensify contacts between primary and secondary schools through school partnerships, and strengthen their communication in the field of inclusion of children and pupils with special educational needs.

During the bilateral meeting, the ministers exchanged experiences and opinions on the plans for the future. On this occasion, Minister Šehović stated: "We are facing a change of a model of studies, as well as funding models. The allocations of funds will be increased, but also the responsibility of the university. When it comes to secondary vocational schools, it is necessary to educate the skilled personnel for the market and in this area the experience of Serbia will be of great help.”

Minister Šarčević has presented legal solutions that aim to increase the quality in education, and stressed that for the first time the Law on dual education will be adopted.

The meeting was concluded by mutual belief in the continuation of cooperation through high-quality implementation of this Agreement.
