Abu Dhabi: Montenegro and UAE to strengthen cooperation in defence

Abu Dhabi, UAE (21 February 2017) – Minister of Defence Predsrag Bošković met with Minister of State for Defence of the UAE Mohammed Al Bawardi, for talks on cooperation between the two countries.

Modernising and equipping Montenego's Armed Forces is one of the top priorities of the Euro-Atlantic agenda, Minister Bošković stressed, adding that continuing efforts in improving this sector are important for dealing with the current security threats. In that regard, Montenegro will continue working on modernising the Armed Forces in order to meet NATO standards, Minister Bošković emphasised. 

The two officals agreed that the two countries cherish very good overall relations, which could be improved by strenghtening cooperation aimed at modernising and equiping Montenegro's Armed Forces. 

Minister Bošković attends 13th International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) taking place in Abu Dhabi, where he will get a clear insight into the current technology developments in defence industry and take an opportunity to establish cooperation with with international governmental agencies, companies and armed forces.
