More active cooperation between Montenegro and Hungary in the field of higher and dual education

Minister of Education Dr. Damir Šehović met today, on 13th February, H.E Hungarian Ambassador Christian Posa, they discussed the cooperation between the two countries in the field of education with an emphasis on higher education, student mobility programs and dual education.

Minister Šehović said that the recently signed agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of Hungary on cooperation in education, culture, sports and youth opens new opportunities for the exchange of experiences and further improvement of relations.

He pointed out that in context of this Agreement it will be formed a working body that will monitor the realization of cooperation in the field of education, priorities will be to connect the institutions of higher education, mobility of students and teaching staff, as well as dual education that is at high level in Hungary.

Minister Šehović introduced Ambassador Posa with the education reform and systemic change of the laws in this area and expressed hope that the experience of Hungary will help Montenegro to improve the education system.

Ambassador Poša praised the progress of Montenegro when it comes to education and added that the best way of cooperation is exchange of the students who will transfer positive experiences gained during the exchange to their country.

Ambassador said that Hungary can significantly help to Montenegro in education, in the field of agriculture. In this context, he stressed that the Government of Hungary in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), award a number of scholarships to candidates from Montenegro for studies in the field of agriculture, plant protection, rural development, agribusiness, secure animal nutrition and horticulture.

He also pointed out examples of Hungarian good practice in the field of dual education and called for more intensive cooperation in this area, stressing that the experience of that country could be precious for Montenegro.

They agreed that the importance of staff training that will meet needs of the labor market is one of the key factors for the development of Montenegro.
