Budapest: Excellent relations, Montenegro's place is within EU, NATO, PMs Marković and Orban say

Support for Montenegro's integration
Prime Minister Marković thanked his Hungarian counterpart for his country's support for Montenegro's accession bids.
"I took the opportunity to once again thank Hungary for its continued political support for the achievement of Montenegro's key policy goals," Prime Minister Marković told the press conference, adding that Hungary was among the first to ratify the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO and that the country continues to provide generous support and expertise to Montenegro's Euro-Atlantic path, as a contact point embassy for NATO.
Prime Minister of Hungary pledged sincere support to Montenegro's efforts towards becoming a NATO member, emphasising that Montenegro's place is within the European Union. He added that Hungary would like to see Montenegro as an EU member country for the sake of peace and stability in the Western Balkans
Situation in the Western Balkans
Prime Minister of Montenegro said that regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations are among the country's key foreign policy priorities.
“Hungary is a good example of constructive cooperation with neighbouring countries, as well as of full commitment to cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans ... Montenegro remains committed to promoting dialogue and understanding in the Western Balkans, as it is the only way to overcome the increased tensions and preserve peace and security, which are the key conditions for progress in the region. This approach is shared by Hungary as well and we agreed that it is necessary to step up efforts to promote dialogue in the region,” PM Marković pointed up.
Economic cooperation
Montenegro's Economy Minister Dragica Sekulić and her Hungarian counterpart Mihaly Varga discussed economic cooperation between the two countries.
The two prime ministers told the press that they can see room for improvement in that field, in particular in the tourism sector.
"Significant attention was paid to the promotion of cooperation in the economic field and we agreed that it would be of great importance to hold regular meetings of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation, whose session was last held in Budapest in 2015.
"Investments from Hungary amounted to EUR 34.1 in 2016, which is three times more than in 2015, which ranks Hungary 5th in the list of foreign investors in Montenegro," said the Prime Minister of Montenegro.
Hungarian Prime Minister said that his country's investments in Montenegro are very successful. Montenegro is a country that welcomes Hungarians who come to work and invest in the economy, he pointed out.
Interstate documents
During the visit, the two interior ministers, Mevludin Nuhodžić and Pinter Sandor, signed the protocol on readmission of persons who do not have a residence permit/visa, which refers to the execution of the agreement concluded between the European Community and Montenegro, and the declaration of agreement on cooperation between the two interior ministries.
Protocol followed the Joint Declaration on the establishment of enhanced partnership between Montenegro and Hungary, which was signed in 2012, and the Action Plan for improved partnership between Montenegro and Hungary (2013-2014), signed in 2013 and developed in order to implement the joint declaration, as well as the results achieved to date.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Srđan Darmanović and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs Szijjarto Peter signed the Statement of agreement on launching direct airline route between Podgorica and Budapest.
