Conference "End violence against children" to be held tomorrow

Podgorica, Montenegro (26 February 2017) – The conference "End violence against children", organised by the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF, will be held on Monday, 27 February 2017 in Podgorica, at Hilton Hotel, starting at 09:00.

The conference will be opened by Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy and Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin, Head of Cooperation Section at the EU Delegation to Montenegro Andre Lys and UNICEF Representative in Montenegro Benjamin Perks, in the presence of President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović.

The conference participants will be addressed by Ministers of Labour and Social Welfare Kemal Purišić, Minister of Justice Zoran Pažin, Minister of Health Kenan Hrapović, Minister of Education Damir Šehović, Minister of Interior Affairs Mevludin Nuhodžić and Minister of Human and Minority Rights Mehmed Zenka, whose departments participated in the development of the Strategy for the Prevention and Protection of Children from Violence 2017 - 2021, in order to present the key plans for its implementation.

The conference will be attended by Estonian Minister of Social Protection Kaia Iva, who will talk about the results of the reforms in Estonia.

The conference, which is organised in cooperation with the European Union and marks the beginning of the second phase of the campaign "End Violence", will bring together experts, decision-makers, representatives of international and civil society organisations, as well as renowned international experts.

The conference is open to the media. Public Relations Service of the Government of Montenegro will provide photos and video material.
