Government supports new investment in Porto Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (7 March 2017) -- Government of Montenegro is committed to ensuring a favourable business environment that will enable the continuation and development of the ongoing, as well as the arrival of new investments, said Prime Minister Duško Marković at a meeting with Managing Director of Porto Montenegro Oliver Corlette.

Stressing the importance of the Porto Montenegro for the State of Montenegro, Prime Minister Marković said that the Government will support their new investment plans that will make the country more attractive tourist destination.

Both sides agreed on that it is vital to further boost infrastructure in order to enable Montenegro to make use of the full capacity of the existing tourism potentials, extend the tourist season, and become a more attractive destination for high-yield guests.

Mr Corlette stressed that Porto Montenegro is a success story thanks to good cooperation and partnership with the Government, adding that the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) of Dubai, who owns Porto Montenegro, is willing to make further multimillion investments in Montenegro, including those in infrastructure projects.

Prime Minister said that due to the current developments, the Government is focusing on the preservation of peace and stability, but that these efforts will also improve the environment that guarantees security for investors.

Prime Minister underscored that the aim is the improvement of legal solutions and professionalisation of the administration in order to become a more effective service to those who are trying, by making investment, to encourage faster development of Montenegro and create new jobs.
