UK's Royal Navy frigate HMS Monmouth pays visit to Port of Bar

Bar, Montenegro (27 March 2017) -- Minister of Defence Predrag Bošković visited earlier today the UK's Royal Navy frigate HMS “Monmouth” which has entered the Port of Bar, where it will stay until 31 March.
During the visit, Minister Bošković met with the UK Ambassador to Montenegro Ian Whitting and Commander of the Royal Navy Ian Feasey.
Defence Minister Bošković voiced his satisfaction over the visit of the ship belonging to one of the greatest navies in the world, stressing that Montenegro once again demonstrated its capacity to become a part of the collective defence system. He also added that partners within the North - Atlantic Alliance once again reiterated their trust to Montenegro, stressing that the visit will establish a joint platform for boosting cooperation between the two ministries and their navies.
Ambassador Whitting emphasised that the UK is committed to cherishing strategic partnership with Montenegro, voicing the UK’s willingness to continue providing expert support aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the UK and Montenegro.
Commander of the Royal Navy Ian Feasey said that it is an honour and privilege to be able to visit Montenegro in a year of its forthcoming membership in NATO, adding that it will significantly strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries.
