Podgorica, Montenegro (31 March 2017) – Prime Minister Duško Marković met earlier today with heads of the Tax Administration, Customs Administration and the Inspection Administration, Miomir M. Mugoša, Vladan Joković and Božidar Vuksanović and their assistants. The message that the state will collect every single euro of state revenues has encouraged the competent authorities, businessmen and citizens to work actively in this direction.

The meeting presented the preliminary results of work in the month of March and the first quarter of 2017, which showed improvement in payment collection in certain segments of up to 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

Expressing satisfaction with the fact that it is expected to collect about 166 million EUR of rescheduled tax debt, and that a significant part of it was reported by the biggest tax debtors, the Prime Minister said that the state must deal without compromise with those who are on the debtor lists, and did not sign up for rescheduling. Also, it was pointed out that payment delays by those who signed up for rescheduling will not be tolerated and will be blocked in the event of default.

Evaluating such close cooperation with the Government and mutual coordination as positive, heads of inspection authorities said that they have begun intense activity on the ground in order to combat the gray economy.

The meeting was also attended by DPMs, Zoran Pažin and Milutin Simović, and ministers of finance and economy, Darko Radunović and Dragica Sekulić, as well as by Director General of the Tax and Customs System at the Ministry of Finance Novo Radović.
