Ministers Pribilović, Koprivnikar: Cooperation in terms of public administration reform
Ljubljana, Slovenia (3 April 2017) – Montenegro and Slovenia will intensify cooperation in the field of public administration reform, it was estimated at the meeting of Minister of Public Administration Suzana Pribilović and her Slovenian counterpart Boris Koprivnikar in Ljubljana.
The officials discussed key issues of public administration reform in order of successful implementation in Montenegro and support with regard to the success of public administration reform in Slovenia.
"The Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Public Administration face many challenges in the implementation of the Public Administration Reform Strategy. In recent years there has been significant progress in improving the quality of Montenegrin public apparatus. During the period of implementation of the PAR Strategy legislative framework will be updated, but the main focus of the reform will be on the implementation of the adopted legal framework and substantial changes in the daily practice of public administration," Minister Pribilović said.
Minister Koprivnikar noted that he welcomes the efforts of the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro and that one of the major challenges for the development is creating a functional public administration, both at the state and local level, in the process of establishing an effective, rational and transparent public administration that is oriented towards the citizen.
During his visit to the Ministry of Public Administration of Slovenia, Minister Pribilović spoke with representatives of the Directorate of the public sector and the Directorate for Information Society of the Ministry of Public Administration of Slovenia. The officials also discussed the functional analysis of the public administration sector, optimising the number of employees, information system for monitoring public administration reform and reform promotion in this area, as well as the centralisation of IT systems, web portal of e-government, unique contact centre for public administration, enterprises and citizens, NIO portal, Open data portal, the system of business analytics and data warehouse.
Both sides agreed that the realisation of joint projects is significant potential for further cooperation in the framework of public administration reform.
