2nd meeting of Mayors of Capitals of CEE countries and China is great opportunity for promotion of Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (6 April 2017) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović met today with a City of Beijing delegation, led by Vice-mayor Cheng Hong.

The officials concluded that the 2nd meeting of Mayors of Capitals of CEE countries and China in the framework of Mechanism 16+1, which will be held in Podgorica on 21-22 September, is an important event, a great honor and obligation for Montenegro.

The delegations exchanged ideas on the organisation of the Meeting which now works quite well, as assessed at the meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Simović said that the upcoming Meeting is extremely important for Montenegro, especially for the promotion of its traditional hospitality, culture and beauty, as well as our resources in the field of economic cooperation.

Vice-mayor of Beijing municipality Cheng Hong expressed her satisfaction with Montenegro’s commitment to the organisation of the Meeting and stressed that Beijing is interested in cooperation with Montenegro in terms of culture, economy and tourism in particular.

The officials agreed that this meeting is another indicator of extreme respect, friendship and good communication between the two countries and shown a willingness and openness to any future cooperation and improving relations.
