A delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia in a visit at the Ministry of Defence

State Secretary Slobodan Filipović received a delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia, that’s in a visit at the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro on the occasion of regular annual Bilateral consultations. The aim of the visit is to analyze the current bilateral cooperation and projection of joint activities for the coming year.

Filipović expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the defense cooperation between the two countries and stressed the importance of its strengthening in the realization of the key foreign policy priorities. He expressed a special gratitude for the support of the Ministry of Defense of Macedonia in the field of education of cadets of the Army of Montenegro at the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" in Skopje.

The Head of the Macedonian delegation, Colonel Marjan Jačevski, pointed out that Macedonia will continue the strong cooperation and support to Montenegro in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration. He expressed the confidence that the future cooperation between the two countries can only be enhanced through the membership of Montenegro in NATO. Colonel Jačevski also thanked for the well organized training for helicopter pilots from Macedonia and expressed an interest for this kind of cooperation to continue in the next year.

Within the working part of the meeting, the Heads of Delegation, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Lieutenant Colonel Velibor Bakrač and Head of the Sector for International Cooperation, Colonel Marjan Jačevski signed the Bilateral Cooperation Plan for 2017. Defence cooperation will be realized in the fields of pilots training from the Army of Republic of Macedonia and the Army of Montenegro in the Centers for training for helicopter pilots in Podgorica and Skopje, education of cadets from Montenegro at the Military Academy "General Mihailo Apostolski" in Skopje, the military-intelligence cooperation, exchange of experiences in the field of planning, exchange and consumption of budgetary funds, as well as in the field of public relations and information and communication systems.
