Podgorica, Montenegro (5 May 2017) – Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted earlier today a farewell visit by United Kingdom's Ambassador to Montenegro Ian Whitting. Prime Minister Marković noted that Montenegro and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have excellent bilateral relations, and over the past three years Ambassador Whitting gave significant impulse to their strengthening.
The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his personal commitment to improving the cooperation between Montenegro and the UK and strengthening institutions and capacities of Montenegro to respond to the demands of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
PM Marković emphasised that Montenegro remains strongly committed to partnership with the United Kingdom, and the two officials stated that Brexit will not adversely affect the cooperation, but on the contrary, it will be strengthened in view of the considerable attention that London will continue to pay to Montenegro and the Balkans.
