Minister of Defence, Mr. Bošković, and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General, Mr. Jokić, had a meeting with the delegation of Canada

Mr. Predrag Boškovic, the Minister of Defence, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Lieutenant General, Mr. Ljubiša Jokić, had a meeting today with the delegation of Canada. Canadian delegation was headed by the Canadian ambassador in Montenegro Mr. Philip Pinnington. The meeting was also attended by representative of defence, Colonel, Mr. Mark Hodgson and the representatives of the Canadian company Bell Helicopter Textron Canada.

Mr. Bošković thanked the ambassador Pennington on the overall support of Canada in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro, and expressed his satisfaction regarding the conclusion of ratification process of Montenegro`s accession to NATO. Furthermore, he indicated that the overall cooperation between Montenegro and Canada in the field of defence was very rich in content and quality. He pointed out that the Ministry of Defence will continue to be the credible partner in the upcoming period, proceeding with the initiated processes of modernization and equipping of the army of Montenegro, as well as the education of staff.

Representatives of the company Bell Helicopter introduced the possibilities for establishing the future cooperation in the field of equipping and modernization, presented their products and emphasized their commitment to creating the best possible conditions in line with the needs of the Ministry and the army of Montenegro.

Ambassador Pennington expressed his satisfaction regarding Montenegro’s progress in the field of defence, believing that Montenegro will soon become the full-fledged member of NATO.
