Podgorica, Montenegro (11 May 2017) -- At today's session, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Milutin Simović, the Government of Montenegro adopted verbal information of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs on the status of works on the Bar-Boljare motorway, section Smokovac-Mateševo.

Minister Osman Nurković expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of works which are extensively performed along the entire route in the most demanding and most complex facilities. Twelve building permits for 12 out of 19 sub-sections have been issued so far. The procedure for the issuance of one building permit is ongoing. It is expected that the process of issuing the remaining permits will be completed in June.

As an investor, Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs has already issued 65 prior approvals for hiring subcontractors, including 86 companies, 73 of which are from Montenegro. One thousand eight hundred twenty one worker is hired to build the motorway, 615 of which are hired by domestic subcontractors. The total value of the signed contracts with subcontractors is 33.21% of the total value of the Contract. This means that nearly EUR 250 million will remain in the financial flows of our country, which will provide an additional impetus to economic trends in Montenegro.

In accordance with the Law on Safety of Maritime Navigation, the Government passed the Decision on fees for examination to obtain the title and powers of the special competence for the crew members of ships and yachts. The fee for examination is unchanged since the previous solution, except for the form of the document that regulates this area.

The Report of the Representative of Montenegro before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg for 2016 is adopted, as well. The report contains a detailed overview of all complaints of physical and legal entities and non-governmental organisations before the Court.
