The Government of Montenegro is committed to creating a favourable business environment and interested to work with the Montenegrin Employers Federation (MEF) to further improve the legal framework concerning the business community, Prime Minister Duško Marković said at a ceremonial session of the Montenegrin Employers Federation Assembly.

At the event, which is organised by the MEF on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of its establishment, the Prime Minister thanked the Federation for everything it has done for the Montenegrin economy and its growth.

PM Marković said that it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness, what cannot be done unless we commit ourselves to structural reforms. He also commented on the results of fiscal consolidation measures and stressed that they are yielding results – revenues for the first four months of this year have increased by six percent compared to the same period last year, while revenues rose by nine percent year-on-year in April.

Besides dedicated work to create a favourable business environment, Prime Minister Marković spoke about numerous infrastructure projects that the Government is working on, which are important to facilitate the entrepreneurs’ business. The Prime Minister emphasised that the Government and the MEF want to work on improving the legislative framework, noting all the laws they are working on together.
