Non-resident Defence Attaché of the Republic of France, Colonel Fabrice Duda, paid a visit today to the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro, and had a meeting with the General Director of the Directorate for Defence Policy, Mr. Ivica Ivanović.

On that occasion, they signed the Plan for Bilateral Cooperation for this year between the Ministries of Defence of Montenegro and the Republic of France. This Plan consists of nine activities, out of which seven will be carried out in France. It is primarily based on the fields of cooperation between the armies, naval and air forces of these two countries as well as learning of French language.

General Director informed Colonel Duda about the most important activities that are carried out by the Ministry of Defence in the final stage of accession to NATO, with emphasis on the dynamics of the process of ratification of the Accession Protocol. He pointed out that beside the full-fledged membership in NATO and EU, Montenegro is strongly committed to reinforcement of cooperation with international partners as one of the foreign policy priorities. Therefore, he thanked the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of France for continuous support to Montenegro in the reform of the defence system.

Colonel Duda emphasized the visible results that Montenegro achieved within the Euro-Atlantic integration, and pointed out the visible role of our country on the global security scene. He particularly expressed the satisfaction with close cooperation established by these two countries in the field of defence, as well as the readiness for its further improvement.
