Bošković with Congressman Nunes: Montenegro fully deserved NATO membership

Montenegro, as well as achieving the necessary level of interoperability according to NATO standards. Boskovic said that Montenegro, as a full NATO member, would continue to cherish Euro-Atlantic values, stressing that, despite the negative external influences, it will be persistent in maintaining regional peace and stability. He also underlined the importance of ratification of the Protocol of Accession of Montenegro to NATO in the US Senate, and signing of the Resolution at the White House, pointing to the possibilities of further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and the United States in the field of defense.

Congressman Nunes praised the remarkable progress made in reforms by the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Montenegro, noting that Montenegro rightly deserves to become the 29th member of NATO. Nunes stressed that the United States will continue to actively support the modernization of Montenegro’s defense systems and underscored the strategic partnership between the United States and Montenegro as an example of strong and comprehensive bilateral cooperation. He pointed out that Montenegro has played the important role in the region since the renewal of its independence, emphasizing as well great importance and contribution of the Armed Forces of Montenegro in the preservation of international peace, by its active participation in international missions.
