DPM Simović pays visit to Berane
Berane, Montenegro (26 May 2017) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović visited earlier today Berane. DPM Simović, together with Mayor of Berane Dragoslav Šćekić and his associates, as well as director of Investment Development Fund Zoran Vukčević talked with farmers from this area, and visited several agricultural manufacturers and companies involved in the processing.
DPM Simović assessed that there were several projects, challenges and a need for common approach. The farmers were presented with support possibilities through agriculture budget, EU funds, as well as new benefits for getting a loan by the IDF. The farmers praised open and direct communication, and stressed the problems they encounter, not only in the area of production and marketing, but also the limitations of the road infrastructure and water supply system, as well as limitations related to the use of forest and water resources in their own communities. The Deputy Prime Minister said that it was a useful dialogue.
Referring to the new dairy factory which buys up goat milk, DPM Simović said that he is sure that we will soon create conditions for export to the EU and this product will be welcomed on the demanding European market. The special quality of this product is that it includes 50 subcontractors who produce goat or cow milk.
In addition to the aforementioned topics regarding agriculture and food production, as well as topics related to the definition of priority joint projects that can be done in the next period, DPM Simović discussed with the Mayor and his associates the monitoring of the moratorium on the exploitation of river sediment and specifically regulation of the river Lim.
