Bošković with US Senator Johnson: Readiness to enhance the cooperation of two countries in the forthcoming period

Minister of Defence, Predrag Bošković, MSc, had a meeting today with the American Senator and Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Mr. Ron Johnson.

Minister Bošković informed Senator Johnson regarding the fulfilment of necessary reforms of the Montenegrin defence system, as well as comprehensive reforms of the entire society, stating that Montenegro, as a full-fledged NATO member, will continue to constantly invest in enhancing the national defence system and contribute to regional and global peace and stability. Minister Bošković informed his counterpart about the obligations which Ministry of Defence and the Army of Montenegro will undertake as Montenegro becomes the member of Aliance, emphasizing that Montenegro will continue promoting the importance of NATO membership of the Western Balkan region. Minister Bošković expressed his gratitude for demonstrated support and promotion of the significance of Montenegrin membership to NATO, as well as for the constant support of United States to Montenegro in the field of defence as a main strategic partner of our country.

Senator Johnson congratulated Minister Bošković on the occasion of fulfilment of the main foreign policy goal, reiterating that Montenegro fully deserved to become the 29th NATO member. Senator Johnson highlighted the readiness of United States to enhance the bilateral cooperation in the field of defence in the forthcoming period. Johnson emphasized that Montenegro successfully countered the negative foreign influence, expressing certainty that our country, as a NATO member, will additionally contribute to strengthening good neighbourly relations and securing regional peace and stability.
