Minister Darmanović participates in 8th ASPEN Southeast Europe Foreign Ministers’ Conference

Minister of Foreign Affairs Srđan Darmanović participated today in the "8th ASPEN Southeast Europe Foreign Ministers’ Conference" at the invitation of German Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel.

The conference was an opportunity to exchange opinions about European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of the region, current challenges and closer regional cooperation through existing formats, including the Berlin process.

Minister Darmanović also participated in the panel "Euro-Atlantic integration in times of crisis".

During the presentation, Minister Darmanović pointed out that Montenegro, as future NATO member and candidate for the EU, will be dedicated to the preservation of peace and stability and the promotion of European and Euro-Atlantic values in the region. He underlined the importance of active involvement of the EU and NATO in the region that would be aimed at maintaining and strengthening political dialogue and deepening practical cooperation between countries of Southeast Europe. Minister Darmanović urged the EU to adopt a new approach towards the reaffirmation and revitalisation of the enlargement policy.
