Interior Minister Nuhodžić, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mektić: Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina cherish good cooperation in field of security

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (6 June 2017) -- Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina cherish good cooperation in the field of security, the meeting between Minister of Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and Minister of Security Dragan Mektić emphasised. 

The two officials agreed that the cooperation should be intensified in the coming period in order to deal with the common security challenges such as transnational crime, illegal migrations and terrorism.

Delegations of the two ministries discussed the joint fight against organised crime, issues related to security protection of the joint borders, as well as the possibility for faster exchange of information and experience.

The meeting also discussed the activities aimed at simplifying procedures related to the border transport, as well as the issues related to establishing the joint cross borders and controls. 

Minister Mektić took the opportunity to congratulate Minister Nuhodžić on Montenegro’s membership in NATO.

Minister Nuhodžić attended earlier today the Annual Meeting of Representatives of Defence and Security Committees from Southeast Europe Parliaments, where he talked about the current security challenges in Montenegro and Southeast Europe.
