Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Zoran Zaev congratulated Prime Minster of Montenegro Duško Marković and Montenegrin citizens on Montenegro's membership in NATO. He emphasised that Montenegro's membership in the Alliance proofs that NATO door remain open and that it will encourage the Government of Macedonia to implement democratic standards and make efforts in modernising the army towards its path to NATO.
“Montenegrin example confirms that if there is political will and a high level of the civic awareness of understanding the importance of the reform process, then it will be implemented within the planned dynamics and it will open a perspective to other countries,” Prime Minister Zaev highlighted in his congratulation letter.
According to Prime Minister Zaev, NATO is an alliance of democracy and the citizens of Macedonia, as well as the citizens of Montenegro and the entire region, should be part of a civilized world which brings stability and security.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić congratulated Prime Minister Marković, noting that Montenegro’s membership in NATO is a historic achievement.
“Montenegro’s entrance into the family of the most powerful countries in the world, the alliance which protects democratic values, represents for Bosnia and Herzegovina an important step forward in preserving the peace and stability of the entire Western Balkans,” the congratulation letter outlined. Montenegro’s membership in NATO is a sign of continuation of the open door policy towards the Euro-Atlantic perspective of the region, Mr Zvizdić pointed out in his congratulation letter.
