Montenegro to open Chapters 1 and 22 and to close Chapter 30 on Tuesday

Podgorica, Montenegro (16 June 2017) -- Montenegro will open negotiations in the two Chapters: 1. Free movement of goods and 22. Regional policy and coordination of structural instruments and will temporarily close negotiations in Chapter 30. External relations at the Intergovernmental Conference which will be held in Luxembourg on 20 June.

Montenegro's delegation will be led by the Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejović.

Maintenance of Intergovernmental Conference confirms that, following the opening of negotiations in twenty-six and the temporary closure of two chapters, the negotiation process continues as planned, both in terms of opening the remaining negotiation chapters and entering into a new phase, which includes work on meeting the conditions for the closure of chapters through the completion of the reform process and finalisation of the EU accession process.
