Education Minister Šehović: Adoption of set of laws in field of education is greatest reform breakthrough of this Government

Podgorica, Montenegro (22 june 2017) -- Education Minister Damir Šehović presented at today's press conference a set of laws approved at the 31st Cabinet session, which rounded up the process of reforming the education system in Montenegro.

"I will be free to say that the adoption of these 7 draft laws, as well as the adoption of the Draft Law Amending the Law on Higher Education, which was on the Cabinet agenda last week, is this Government’s greatest reform breakthrough. I think that we created conditions for achieving the objective which was our guidance while designing the reform process, namely to boost the quality of all levels of education in Montenegro", said Minister Šehović.

He emphasised that the main goals of the reform are the promotion of knowledge, creating preconditions for encouraging and rewarding the best students and teachers, an adequate response to the need of harmonising education with the needs of the labour market, creating conditions for applying practical knowledge and skills In a real working environment and learning English from pre-school age.
