The occasion of the meeting is the Initiative for Establishment of International Scientific Institute for Development of Sustainable Technologies in the region of Southeast Europe, based on common regional interests, taking into account economic, cultural and social aspects.
Minister Damjanović explained that the project needs support of the countries in the region and informed Minister Deskoska with the following steps regarding the establishment of a commission for development of concrete ideas and education programmes for young researchers in order to build expertise, which can be funded through EU structural funds.
According to her, the EU has been looking for an attractive project for the region of Southeast Europe for years, therefore the Initiative is a great opportunity for the scientific community of the region to seize the potential, develop science and approach the rest of Europe.
