PM Marković meets with leadership of Royal Theatre Zetski dom in Cetinje: Revitalisation of oldest institution of culture

Prime Minister Duško Marković met today in Cetinje with the leadership of the Royal Theatre Zetski dom – director Slobodan Božović, art director Lidija Dedović and Council President Nenad Vujadinović.

They discussed the enrichment of the cultural, educational, tourist and promotional contents of the Theatre and its connection with the tourism economy and education within the wider project of promotion of the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje and Montenegro and strengthening the identity awareness, especially of pupils and young people.

PM Marković emphasised that one of the Government's goals is to make Montenegro recognisable, unique and complex, and thus more prosperous. Cetinje, as historic, cultural and spiritual capital of Montenegro, has one of the most significant roles in accomplishing this goal.

The interlocutors concluded that due to numerous infrastructure projects, primarily modernisation of the road network, Cetinje is now easily and quickly accessible to tourists and citizens of Montenegro and estimated that such development at the technical level need to be accompanied by the improvement of cultural, educational, historical and tourist offers of the Old Royal Capital, and above all with new content and creative developments.

Prime Minister Marković expressed full support to the Royal Theatre Zetski dom on the project of reconstruction and overall revitalisation of this institution, as well as the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje on all projects aimed at strengthening cultural and historical awareness and promoting Montenegro. In this process, the Prime Minister assessed, the Royal Theatre Zetski dom has a special significance because it needs to breathe new life into Cetinje.

It was concluded that a special operational team, consisting of representatives of the Government, Old Royal Capital of Cetinje and the Royal Theatre Zetski dom, will by the end of this month prepare framework plan for further activities on realisation of agreed projects within the tourist and educational role of Zetski dom.

Minister of Culture Janko Ljumović, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulović, Director General of the Directorate for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education Mubera Kurpejović, and Mayor of Cetinje Aleksandar Bogdanović attended the meeting.
