Prime Minister Marković at Western Balkans Summit in Trieste
Trieste, Italy (12 July 2017) -- Prime Minister Duško Marković is leading the Montenegrin Delegation at the meeting of the Heads of State or Government of the Western Balkan countries (WB6) at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
PM Marković will address the WB6 leaders and leaders of Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Croatia, Slovenia and Bulgaria at the plenary session starting at 16:30.
It is planned for the Summit to adopt the Regional Economic Area Action Plan arising from the commitments under the CEFTA Agreement and the SEE 2020 Strategy, based on the rules and principles of the European Union reflected in the Stabilisation and Association Agreements.
Transport Community Agreement is also expected to be signed at the Trieste summit. It is a document obliging the six Western Balkan countries to apply European directives in the field of road and rail transport.
Prime Minister Marković will present the project of establishing the International Institute for Sustainable Technologies, in cooperation with the CERN.
PM Marković is expected to meet with leaders of the EU countries.
Six prime ministers of the Western Balkan countries are also expected to adopt a declaration reflecting a strong commitment to further activities in the area of regional cooperation within the Western Balkans region and the European perspective of the countries of the region.
