Prime Minister Marković, UK Foreign Secretary Johnson: Montenegro and UK cherish good relations

Trieste, Italy (12 July 2017) – Prime Minister Duško Marković met in Trieste with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson, far talks on bilateral relations between the two countries. 

The two officials agreed that Montenegro and the UK cherish good relations, voicing belief that the cooperation will be strengthened in various areas in the coming period.

PM Marković thanked Mr Johnson for the UK Government's partnership relations with Montenegro, as well as for the trust and support in the recent past. 

Foreign Secretary Johnson stressed that regardless of the fact that the UK is leaving the EU, the country remains committed to cherishing cooperation with the Western Balkan countries and it will continue supporting Montenegro's EU accession process.

The two officials also exchanged opinions on other topics of the mutual interest.
