Bošković-General Graziano: Cooperation between Montenegro and Italy through the NATO alliance is even more intense

Defence Minister Predrag Bošković met today with Chief of the General Staff of the Italian Armed Forces, General Claudio Graziano, who is in an official visit to the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro.

Minister Bošković expressed his satisfaction with the visit of General Graziano, which is also the first official visit of the Chief of General Staff of the NATO member since Montenegro became a member of the Alliance. Bošković thanked for the overall support of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Italy to Montenegro during the reform integration process, especially emphasizing the importance of joint participation in international missions and operations, and the experience gained by the Armed Forces of Montenegro in the EU operation ATALANTA, by participating on Italian ships. Bošković said that in the future, we will be committed to the establishment of even better quality and more intensive cooperation between the navies and the aviation of the two armies. As a very important kind of support from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Italy, Bošković also mentioned the education of Montenegrin cadets at military academies in Italy.

General Graziano congratulated on exceptional success in achieving one of Montenegro's top foreign policy goals, stressing that on that road Montenegro had the permanent and unreserved support from the Republic of Italy. Graziano also expressed the belief that the future cooperation between Montenegro and the Republic of Italy in the area of defence, through the NATO alliance, will be even more significant and intensive.
