Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Osman Nurkovic visited the route of the Smokovac-Uvac-Matesevo section of the Bar-Boljare highway together with Mr. Hei Shiqiang, executive director of CRBC for Montenegro, during an excursion flight in a helicopter of the Army of Montenegro.
Both Minister Nurkovic and Mr. Hei Shiqiang gave statements to the media while they were visiting the construction site of the Jabucki Krs tunnel. On this site, works are being carried out according to plan and 72% of the excavation and primary subgrade work has been completed.
Construction on the priority section Smokovac-Uvac-Matesevo began on May 11, 2015 with an agreed 48 months deadline for completion of the project. The contractor performs works in accordance with his own Work Programme. So far, 14 building permits out of the 19 total permits needed have been issued for the works on 14 sub-sections. Moreover, 3 additional requests to issue building permits have been submitted. Finally, the main projects for the remaining 2 sub-sections are in their final phases, which means that the projecting process is coming to an end – finalization of this process will signify that pre-conditions for the contractor to perform works on the field across the entire route are created. All works are performed in accordance with the highest technical, quality, durability and safety standards.
